THE LAST AUNT AND UNCLE IN OUR FAMILY
From time to time I have shared my very special Aunt and Uncle. Aunt Shirley is my mother's youngest sister and my only living Aunt from a family of ten siblings. Her husband, Uncle Bill and Aunt Shirley have been married over 60 years. They still live in a beautiful Victorian home in Michigan and at age 87 are active and still full of fun. They are well loved by all who know them.
Their Victorian home.
I have shared this lovely 100 year old home before. If you look at the porch they are both posing in this photo.
Aunt Shirley five years ago setting up for a button sale. She is an antique button dealer. Still selling buttons at 87 years old.
Hi Jeanne,
What a darling couple. I'm so glad they're still enjoying that beautiful blue home! (I love the row of tulips in the front.)
Thanks for playing today. Have a Beautiful Blue Monday!

Jeanne, that is such a great post today about your aunt and uncle. And what a great life they have shared. I love that house! Awesome.

Jeanne, Darlin'
I've loved-her-by-proxy ever since all the posts we did about her buttons---what a lifelong collection of beautiful heirlooms! And if you replaced that cap with a big black hat, he'd be Chris' big brother---that's exactly how he dresses for work every day, with a red T-shirt beneath, and red suspenders. What a wonderful couple!
And what a blessing for all of you to be a part of each others' lives all your life---those sweet people, that magical blue house, you and your sibs, and all your Mama's brothers and sisters gathering together. What glorious family events you must have always had.
I can just see the moment that picture was taken---you've been for a wonderful visit, Bill is loading the car on a sunny day (do I see his feet?), and you say, "Just one more picture before we go!" and run over to the edge of those bright tulips to get it all in while they sit on the porch rail and smile. That's one for the ages, and I'm so glad that you have the blessings and felicity of all that family closeness and love.
I awoke thinking of you this morning, wondering if you're headed home, or if there are a few more precious days to get in everything you wanted to do and see before you depart. I know you're just overflowing with stories and memories, and I can't wait to share.
love and,
