SUPER BOWL 50
Cam Newton and Peyton Manning
Outstanding quarterbacks of our time.
Since we live in North Carolina I rooted for North Carolina to win. The Broncos won the game 24 - 10 and the game was all "defense." Peyton Manning who is 39 years old is considering retiring after going out with another Super Bowl win. Cam Newton, North Carolina's awesome quarterback, was unable to to play his game because the Bronco defense overwhelmed him in almost every play.
Bottom line, It was still a good game in spite of the loss.
HALFTIME
Halftime was one of the exciting part of Super Bowl 50. The show did not disappoint. It started with a bang and ended with what you expect...Extravagance and fireworks.
Beyonce, Coldplay and Bruno Mars were awesome.
COMMERCIALS
One word...entertaining.
So there you have it. Super Bowl 50 was celebrated with friends who all brought awesome food and snacks.
What could be better than that?
THE PANTHER'S WINNING OF COURSE.
Happy Blue Monday
Blessings and love,
JEANNE
We watched as well, I was very disappointed in the commercials, but loved the outcome of the game!

Hi Jeannie,
Would you believe that I slept through the entire halftime? Yes, I did! However, I saw the entire game.
Thanks for playing today.
Have a Beautiful Blue Monday!

I thought about you during the game yesterday, and though we are not sports fans on any level, we "watched" it all. Chris and I just this minute said that we'd broken our record for staying with a game of any kind (though he did have his NOOK in his lap for the whole time).
We'd had the Kiddos over at two-to-five or so, for our third annual UNSUPERBOWL Party, with snacks and ribs and wings off the grill, and lots of good dips and spreads and chili and chips. We played board games and just talked for several hours, and they were home in time to watch and get Sweetpea to bed on time.
But Chris and I just remarked that he was reading and I was simply watching the clock. It's so silly, but when Peyton got ahead, I was ready for the final whistle---just stop it right there and let "our boy" win. He's sort of a three-way connection, in that my Daddy knew HIS Daddy, from not too far from where I grew up, and then he was just a star citizen up here for a number of years, kind and generous and just an all-out GOOD MAN and fine example to our young folks. He's built wings onto the Children's hospital and still supports countless local charities, and is just that kind of humble, self-effacing sweet person that you see on TV.
And this probably being his last game and all, and combined with the 50th and possible retirement and all the bells and whistles of Superbowldom, I've now seen one.
And there at the end, when the camera just would NOT get out of Cam's face and let him have an emotional moment, I said to the screen, "Get that camera away from him! That's not poor sportsmanship---he's played his heart out and anybody would be disappointed. Let him HAVE a minute!"
Your Panthers played a resounding game, and they have a long and illustrious career awaiting. Congratulations to both teams, for a game WELL played---sportsmen and gentlemen all.
love and stay warm!

I was rooting for the Broncos to win and so I was happy they did--especially for Peyton! I enjoyed Lady Gaga's rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. I've heard today that many people thought the halftime show was controversial but that went all over my head when I watched it live. I really don't stay in touch with modern singers and groups these days--too old--lol! I thought the crowd joining in with signs was fun. There will be a parade here tomorrow but I'm not sure we will go. I was not feeling 100% last night--I'm sure I picked up a virus from one of the grsndkids.

I liked the halftime show and Bruno I thought did the best job. Didn't watch much of the game though.
Have a great week!
