Thank you for playing
In honor of Sally's bluejay I am posting two bluejay photos I took while on a vacation out West a few years ago. We stayed in a cabin in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado for a week and every morning we tossed bird food out on the ground. We had a great view through a picture window so we could watch the wildlife feed each morning. Most mornings this bluejay and chipmunk would share their breakfast together.
They are checking each other out.
They ate their breakfast side by side. In this shot they both have food in their beak and mouth.
Watching this was quite a thrill and a great memory for our Western vacation.

EASTER IS COMING
I want to wish everyone a blessed Easter this coming Sunday.
I was looking through my past Easter posts and had fun with the following pics.
I hope you get a chuckle, I sure did.
Laughter is good medicine.

Never liked Fruit Loops but I love these chicks.

From our home to yours...HAPPY EASTER.

A beautiful blue Jay bird!
We don't have Chipmunks in New Zealand - I had no idea they were so tiny - or is the Bluejay a giant bird?!!!!
Thank you Jeanne for hosting Bluw Monday.
Wishing you a happy week in the lead up to Easter Sunday.

Hi Jeanne! Oh, what beautiful bluejays. Those are prettier than the ones from Texas but I haven't seen any New York bluejays yet. Don't even know if they fly up here. The cartoons are so cute. Love your pretty table centerpiece and thanks for hosting.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

You are doing an excellent job on Blue Monday, I do believe your blue jay and chipmunks are from around Hartsel, Colorado. I have seen these same ones at Suzanne's cabin. May you have a good week. I look forward to next weeks presentation.

The blue jays are beautiful, Jeanne. Such feisty birds!
Thank you Jeanne for carrying on for our dear Smiling Sally. I haven't participated in years but I did enjoy Blue Mondays from 2008-2011!
I wanted to post my very first Blue Monday in honor of Sally. What a joy to know her hope was in the Lord and she is "Home" now!

Well, there you are, Miss Bluebird herself! I signed on and doodled around a minute---no visitors, nary a one. Which was to be expected, for I've not put up anything new since St. Pat's Day. And then, you appeared on the sidebar, and there were TWO little numbers, increased from the last, and You'd Been Here While I Was, just thinkin' about each other. What a nice serendipity for a Blue Monday. Only in the Sweet Sally Sense, of course, for it's nice here, with Chris unexpectedly home, and Caro's day off, and we're moving stuff around and out from walls for the cleaners to come tomorrow, for that big Spring Clean Thing before the kiddos come for Easter.
Sweetpea has been here three days this past week, and WERE THEY BUSY! We painted and pastelled and cut out and dyed eggs of all sorts, hanging them about the downstairs with merry abandon, and took long afternoon walks, returning with feathers and stones and bits of pretty bark for a long Nature Stroll study with all the spyglasses, and do you know that Sweetgum Balls through a magnifying glass look like thousands of little birdie-beaks all nestled together?
She'll be here three days this week, for they got TWO WEEKS borrowed from SNOW DAYS which did not happen. We have some farther-afield activities lines up, with a museum visit, some cooking lessons (pink velvet cupcakes for the Easter celebration is our plan for Friday, with all her new measuring cups and spoons she got in her Valentine basket) and some stress on Homework review, lest she drift afar from all the reading and arithmetic skills she's acquired.
Your stay at the Colorado cabin sounds Heaven. I've been twice, back in the 70s, and I think anybody who goes there in Summer from a hot climate vows that they'll retire to the mountains---it was marvelous. We left Mississippi one day, in 97 degrees, and next day were up a mountain, playing in the snow! Loved it.
Must get me back to these chores whilst my companions are willin' and able---Caro's much improved, going to work every day, and cooking a bit at home. Upstairs is awaiting and the sunshine promises a bright, cheery lunch together!
love and,

What a beautiful Blue Jay! I saw these when I was at Yosemite Nat'l Park a few years ago. So different than our Eastern Jays. Thanks for the link up party, Jeanne! Happy Easter!

Jeanne, Your story and photos of the chipmunk and jay eating together are so interesting! The western blue jay is very different from the one we have here in the east, which looks exactly like the one on the Blue Monday button. Thank you for hosting this collection in memory of Sally. Linda

Hi Jeanne and Happy Blue Monday! Thank you again for hosting. Hope your week is bluetiful! Happy Easter and I love your blue jays and those chimmunks too. My kids took me on a hike way up high and all that was up with us were chipmunks! I think they love the high altitude. xo Hugs Anne
